AUS Advantage

In an ideal world, every qualified medical aspirant should be able to pursue their dreams with no obstacles. Sadly, we do not live in an ideal world and records show that due to a severe limitation of available seats, only one in four medical aspirants is able to find a spot in the medical institutions in US and Canada. This is where the AUS advantage comes into play. We strive to provide qualified applicants a means of achieving their dream of becoming a physician. We give new wings to your dreams and do not let a limitation of seats get in your way. In fact, approximately 25% of US medical residents are not graduates of U.S. medical schools.

So what are you waiting for?

We understand that choosing your right medical school from the many caribbean medical schools is a daunting task. However, as educators, we encourage you to make a sound decision. We at aus are committed to providing you an outstanding path towards medical licensure and molding you into fine physicians and individuals the world can lean on.

Here are a few things that set up apart from the others

Early clinical exposure

Students begin interacting with patients in their first academic term. Exposure to the clinical setting continues throughout subsequent terms at local clinics and faculty-supervised events.

USMLE Review

To adequately prepare students for US Licensure, students complete an approved USMLE Review program incorporated into the curriculum. Completed in the fifth term, the course provides a thorough review of the Basic Sciences in preparation for the USMLE Step 1 Exam.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Visible body is interactive software provided to each student at AUSSOM. Accessible via computer or mobile device, the application provides over 5,000 3D models of the human body. Gross anatomy and micro-anatomy, as well as physiological processes and pathologies are included.

Simulation Lab

Working with highly realistic adult and pediatric simulators, students get vital hands-on clinical experience in diagnosing and treating patients. Under the careful guidance of our teaching staff, students apply their knowledge in simulation, observation, and debriefing real-life medical scenarios.

Community Health Programs

Students participate in events at local clinics, conduct blood drives, and host local health fairs with a mission to give back to the community. It provides students with an early exposure in a clinical setting, by interacting with patients beginning in their first term.

Distinguished Faculty

All faculty members at AUSSOM hold advanced medical or doctoral degrees in their respective fields. Beyond the classroom experience, our distinguished professors provide student advisement and create an atmosphere of unsurpassed excellence. Extensive student-teacher interaction helps students prepare for the USMLE Step 1 Exam.

Small Class Sizes

With a small student to faculty ratio, AUS provides one-on-one attention to create a more effective class experience. Extensive student-teacher interaction helps students prepare for the USMLE Step 1 Exam.
